As the autumn term came to an end and we were all ready for our Christmas break, we reflected on what had been another incredible term and shared some of our favourite memories!

There were just so many things to celebrate, we created a list of our top moments!

  • We learnt the key procedures for CPR.
  • We dissected a heart at the secondary school!
  • Learning about circulatory system has been fascinating.
  • We explored how to keep our body healthy, researched healthy drugs and the impacts of smoking and alcohol.
  • Some of us took part in four days of ‘Bike Ability.’
  • We all did an incredible job during our swimming lessons.
  • We had great fun managing a stall at the Christmas Fayre.
  • … and a huge majority our class represented the school in events such as singing at the church or sports tournaments!

Oh! One other thing to celebrate is that Miss Ayres got married over the Christmas break!! She is now Mrs Sinclair!

We all hope you had a wonderful Christmas break and we wish everyone a happy and healthy 2019.

Welcome to 6SA!

We are delighted that you have decided to visit our page. We’ve already had a very exciting start to the new school year - lots of investigating, challenges and trips!

There are 22 members of 6SA, all of which have been completely captivated by our first topic – I.D. We firstly had the pleasure of working alongside private investigators, who came into school to teach the children all about the exclusivity of fingerprints! Not only this, but we have explored family traits through photographs and began to question who we have inherited these traits from. We have also investigated the theory of the ‘Vitruvian Man’ and carried out our own measures investigation to see how we match up to this impressive notion. Carrying all of this learning forward, we created a T-Shirt – one per child - that represents them as an individual!

6SA love a challenge, we have been really engaged with improving our Arithmetic scores, Book Talk scores and gain the most house points. It is always an extremely hard job to choose the weekly ‘VIP’ and ‘Star of the Day.’

As the end of the first term arrived, it was a pleasure to welcome wonderful examples of Topic homework - thank you for all your effort with this. A reminder of our homework expectations were sent out at the beginning of the school year, if at any point you are unsure, please contact the school or ask myself at the end of the school day. It is really important that the children participate fully in all areas of homework.

Throughout the rest of the school year, we will be updating our page with each term’s learning. We are so excited to begin our new topic – Blood Heart – which I have no doubt will be just as successful as I.D.

I am really looking forward to the year ahead and working with your children, helping them to develop and grow into wonderful role models for our community.
