Welcome

We have had a brilliant week getting to know each other. What an amazing bunch of children. I am excited for a fantastic year ahead.

P.E

Please note that PE Days are Mondays and Thursdays, PE kit needs to be in School and Children must be able to remove their own earrings if they wear them.

Reading

The children were excited to bring their new reading books home on Friday. Children are kindly requested to read for 10 minutes a day and a note made in their reading records. We want to win a reward for a class for having the most independent readers.

Wednesday WOW!

Well, what on earth happened in school on Wednesday? There was a great mystery which unfolded as the day progressed. We had an emergency meeting to discuss the remains of a car which were found in the playground. Mr Bale found an important piece of evidence – a metal hand. It reminded us of the Iron Man story. After interviewing Mr Mortimer from the Pet Shop, the children discovered it was the remains of his car which was in the playground. We spent the morning examining evidence and discussing possible theories. In the afternoon, it was lovely to see so many parents in the hall for an assembly about our WOW day and to listen to our theories about what happened.

I can't wait for the next exciting part of our topic.

Higham Explorers!

What a glorious day we had on our mini beast hunt.  In Science we have been learning about animals and their habitats.  We went searching for invertebrates and were not disappointed.  We quickly realised  that we had to be quiet and search carefully to ensure we found some creatures.

I can't believe I found a newt!

said Ethan gleefully.

Upon our return to school we researched some of the creatures we had found to write a detailed description of them as part of our learning in Science.

We had a fantastic outdoor learning experience.
